WARREN ROSIN

WARREN ROSIN

Warren Lorenz Rosin, 80, passed away Jan. 3, 2023, at Meadowbrook in Black River Falls, WI.

Warren was born Nov. 14, 1942, in Fergus Falls, MN, to Lorenz and Mable (Nordby) Rosin. He attended country grade school near Barrett, MN, through the fourth grade. In 1954, Warren, along with his parents and brother Roger Rosin, moved to Howard Lake, MN, where he grew up on the family farm.

Warren graduated from Howard Lake High School in 1960, then attended Moorhead State University where he earned a BS degree in physical education. He also attended Winona State University and earned an MS in administration.

His first teaching job was in Gilmanton, WI, where he was the physical education teacher and athletic director and served as the coach for basketball, cross country, and baseball.

Warren married Priscilla Marie Davidson Aug. 29, 1964. They eventually settled in Black River Falls, WI, in 1969 to raise a family.

Warren taught physical education at the junior high school and eventually became the middle school principal. He also served as the head coach for the Black River Falls Tigers football team for 29 years, and led the team to state in 1999. In 2000, Warren was inducted into the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame.

Warren had a great love for coaching football, but above all, he took great pride and enjoyment in working with his players and fellow coaches. His wife, Priscilla, attended every game, missing only one in 29 years. His daughters also supported their father on the sidelines, taking stats for a number of years.

Warren had many other passions in his life as well. He loved to golf with the guys on Thursdays, travel with his wife and family and attend games of his favorite sports teams - the UW-Badgers and Minnesota Vikings. He was a member of the Black River Falls Lions Club, Rotary Club and Jackson County Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers. He was an active member in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Black River Falls. Warren had a great passion for carpentry, building and remodeling the house that he and his family lived in, as well as building projects for his family, like a miniature basketball court, treehouses, a potting shed and a playhouse for his granddaughters.

Warren was very devoted to his family and his friends and loved them all very much, creating many treasured memories, which he often reflected on until his passing.

Warren is survived by his wife, Priscilla; his daughters, Carrie Rosin, Becky (Clay) Hammes and Cindy (Neil) Kampen; his grandchildren, Elizabeth and Taylor Stanley, Lauren and Rachel Hammes, and Kendall Kampen; his brother, Roger (Holly) Rosin; and nieces and nephews.

Warren is preceded in death by his parents, Lorenz and Mable Rosin; and his in-laws, Ward and Lillian Davidson.

Funeral services for Warren Rosin will be held Thursday, Jan. 12, at 11 a.m. at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Black River Falls. Friends may call on the family during visitation at the church Wednesday, Jan. 11 from 4 to 6 p.m., as well as from 10 a.m. until the start of services. A luncheon and time of sharing memories at the church will follow the service.

The family would like to thank the staff at Meadowbrook and St. Croix Hospice for the care they provided to Warren.
