WAVA JEANETTE (BUSH) LARSON

 

     Wava Jeanette (Bush) Larson of Alma Center died April 19, 2025, at Mayo Clinic hospital in Eau Claire, WI.

     Wava was born Jan. 14, 1929, in Neillsville, WI, to Floyd and Frances (Ripp) Bush. She grew up in Neillsville and graduated from Neillsville High School in 1948. On May 26, 1948, she married Kenneth Larson, whom she met at The Strawberry Patch with friends and with whom she had five children. She lived in the same house for 72 years.

     Wava worked various jobs but was primarily a mother and homemaker. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, and had a sharp, curious mind and enjoyed researching and learning about science and animals. Wava and her husband also enjoyed traveling to see their children.

     Wava was an active member of the Assembly of God Church of Alma Center. She taught Sunday School and was involved in a lady’s quilting group. Wava’s faith was important to her and she often prayed for others.

     Wava is preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Frances Bush; her husband, Kenneth; brothers Darrel and Dale Bush; brothers-in-law Delbert Schnabel, Jerry Lindgren, Gilbert Erickson, Vernon Larson, Reuben Larson, Merlin Larson, Virgil Larson; sisters-in-law Hilda Bush, Viola Larson and Marlene Larson.

     She is survived by sisters LaVon Schnabel, Lola Lindgren and Wanda Erickson; brother Chuck (Dorann) Bush; sisters-in-law Barbara Bush, Shelby Larson and Ramona Larson; her children, Dennis (Carol) Larson of Lake Elmo, MN, Sherry (Rocky) Grams of Mounds View, MN, Sheila (Ric) Shields of Tulsa, OK, Shannon (Tim) Brager of Merrillan, WI, and Craig (Courtney) Larson of Colorado Springs, CO; 13 grandchildren, Brent (Melanie) Larson, Nathan (Analia) Grams, Larisa Grams, Ben (Belu) Grams, Travis Shields, Tara Shields, Cameron Brager, Caleb Brager, Luke (Elise) Larson, Ezekiel Larson, Jacob (Lauren) Larson, Micah Larson and Nicholas Larson; eight great-grandchildren, Mady Larson, Matthew Larson, Santiago Grams, Zoe Grams, Lukas Benitez, Tobias Grams, Ezekiel Grams and Oliver Larson.

     Wava will be interned in a private family burial per her wishes. A remembrance of Wava’s life will be held on Memorial Day.

     The Jensen-Modjeski Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
