WILMA WYSS

     Wilma June (Smith) Wyss, 84, passed away peacefully at home Dec. 15, 2022, after a short illness. Wilma was born in June of 1938 in Black River Falls, WI, to Clyde and Irene (Upton) Smith. Wilma grew up in Hixton, WI, and graduated from Hixton High School in 1956. She attended cosmetology school in Eau Claire, WI, after high school and became a licensed beautician. She worked as a beautician for 45 years in the Black River Falls, WI area. She was an enthusiastic athlete, playing softball, volleyball, tennis, golf and pickleball. She enjoyed snowmobiling, motorcycling, cooking and baking, entertaining and decorating her homes. She and her husband, John, retired to Arizona where they enjoyed golfing, traveling and the warm weather.

     Wilma is survived by her former husband, Duane Newell, and their children Graig (Nancy) Newell and Mike (Judy) Newell, and grandchildren Leah, Emily and Savannah; brother Milton (Catherine) Smith, step-son Troy (Tari) Wyss; step-daughters Nancy (Joe) Forman; Dawn (Tom Bahr) Wyss; and Sarah Wyss. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Wyss.

     A memorial service will be determined at a future date.
